I’m a writer. My articles—on a wide range of topics, including community issues, health, travel and business big and small—have appeared in publications in print and online, including Douglas Magazine, Times-Colonist, Canadian Business, Canadian Living and Office.com. A few of my short stories have appeared in literary journals, including Mississippi Review.

I’m also an enthusiastic reader of novels and thoughtful nonfiction and enjoy sharing my passion for the written word. I teach a two-day course, How to Read Like a Writer, at University of Victoria, Division of Continuing Studies; the next class will be held in October 2010 and you can learn more by clicking here.

Ever wondered what makes a good ghost story work? Take my new course Read Like a Writer: Classic Ghost Stories. We’re meeting the day before Halloween—learn more here.

Also this October, I’m teaching Learn to Write Great Blog Posts at Camosun College—click here and scroll down for more information.

As well, I’m a writing coach. To contact me regarding coaching, writing, teaching or speaking at writers’ events, click here.

You can find more about me on LinkedIn and/or by following me on Twitter.

(Why is this site named “SharleenJonsson”? Because the domain for “SharleenJohnson” was taken and Jonsson, my father’s father’s surname, shows off my Icelandic roots.)
